then we headed over to...
Notre Dame de Paris
the Jillcam
standing in line waiting to climb the north tower, notre dame towered over me
our feet, in flower formation. :)
then we got to climb the tower and i switched to...
the Quasimodocam
the courtyard
a friendly gargoyle. :P
sacre coeur and the exciting world of montmartre
la tour eiffel
l'église
flying buttresses
parisian rooftops
i love all the little chimney pots
un petit jardin
this guy was on rollerblades and was slaloming between the little marker thingies. it was nifty. :)
then we climbed down from the tower, and
the Jillcam came back on.
the north rose window. this was the least blurry picture i got of it, since i was shaking so badly after walking down 300 stairs. oh yeah.
a cool chandelier
the south rose window
outside in the courtyard. such a gorgeous church.
then it was time for
running around Île de la Cité
we were pretty hungry after Notre Dame, so we found this café...
and ordered lunch!
my heavenly chocolate crêpe which i shared with natali
rachel's strawberry crêpe
once we were done with lunch, we tried to get into Saint Chapelle, but we just missed the last entrance :( so we decided to wander around the island.
we walked back to where our cruise left from, aka, pont neuf...
...and rachel and natali had the bright idea to stick their toes in the Seine.
lots of squealing ensued. "that's so groooooooosss!", you know...
they thoroughly scrubbed their feet, and then all was well. we decided to go explore a bit more of paris, so we hiked back to cité...
on the steps of the oldest métro stop. my skirt was misbehaving because of the gusts of air issuing forth from the station.
us with the cutest kids in the world behind us.
...and got back on the train to explore. we went a few places, i got felt up by some pervy frenchman on a very crowded subway, and we went home. exciting, eh?
